I'm exhausted. It's been a trying weekend for me as my mom is in the hospital with a heart attack. She is stable now, but it was touch and go for a bit there. Thank god for medical science is all I have to say.

Any way, I wanted to share a little side project that I worked on this week. My daughter's friend (I don't want to say her name on the internet without her say so) drew me this really cute picture:
i40.tinypic.com/2eevvc8.png and I loved it! I was really bored last weekend (not this crazy one!) so I decided to scan and colour it. Here's my final version:

I thought it would be fun to show you that. I loves me some foxes, and rainbows and Wizards of Ozezezez...

I really want to learn how to paint clouds .. this is my first real 'go' at it. What do you think? Any suggestions? Can anyone point me to a decent Photoshop cloud painting tutorial? There used to be an amazing cumulonimbus painting tutorial, but I can't find it anywhere. I -may- have printed it out. I'll have to search my archives at some point (advantage of having used to work in a print shop!)

Hey guys, hope that your weekend was good. I played some Final Fantasy Tactics again because I can't afford to buy 13... Man I love Tactics.

I'm sure you guys noticed that the comic looks a little weird today. We're planning on doing some updating to the previous comics, switching up the outline and such to look a bit less like Questionable Content which was a huge inspiration to us when we were starting out. Of course, as we start to develop our voice separate from his, we're also trying to move away from the styles that we learned from Jeph. It was nothing but respect in the aspects we borrowed, and as we are working with our own styles, it is respect for his work that we try to stop borrowing so heavily from his.

So we'll be switching up some things, moving towards the new layout and things like that. Speaking of new layouts, if you haven't seen RPGeneric's new layout, you should check it out. It looks pretty darn good, way to go Effigy! (And Cyborg for coding it!)

Speaking of Effigy, she put together a collaboration between TOGM and a bunch of other comics, her design work is great in it. If you want to see it, check out the PDF version here.

Oh! I don't know if he'll recognize the cameo, but Karl is based off of Marshmallow_Gherkin, the winner of TOGM's contest! Chuck, the other officer, is based off a friend of mine in real life. I hope June mentions the difficulty of making the TOGM-ized version look similar enough to the real life version.

Sorry for the delay, if anyone was looking at midnight EST... Another notch in Daylight Saving Time's belt, I suppose... It was ready on time, just had to switch the upload time to accomodate the time change ;)

Wow, I like how you made those officers, really. And the furry anime is really cute too xD I kinda want to thank you guys for making this comic anyways, it prolly sounds dramatic or sth, but the more I see the comics here, the more I get inspired to start drawing again myself :) So keep it up!

Thanks Marshmallow! Originally I had planned to write Karl in as the Phantom, but the Phantom actually making an on screen performance in the near future is unlikely, so I went with swapping out a PSO instead... Granted, the PSO will probably be off screen for a fair bit anyways. They are just being introduced to show that there are some consequences for John's actions. I'm also pleased with myself for not making them bumbling idiots, despite the almost sitcom setup in panel 2. I guess the twist in this strip is that they aren't dumb, and they are good at their job.

That's really nice of you to say, Barra. The fact that TOGM inspires anyone to do anything positive makes my day!

I'm also glad that the Guest enjoyed it, but I'd love to have a more descriptive name to reference ;)

@ArtistXXY - Oh, thanks for letting me know :) We had a problem with DST making the comic a little late, so I apologize for the additional refreshes before we figured it out.. ;)
