Hey everybody!

Oh, I just thought of something to post. If you ever be a best man at a dude's wedding, part of your job should be helping him carry supplies to / from the car. He's the groom dammit, he's not supposed to be doing grunt work on his wedding day.... He has the whole rest of his married life for that!

On a related note, I helped a groom carry some stuff to his car today, because I didn't want him getting his spiffy outfit dirty (and because he's been a super nice guy!)

Oh, and I chatted with two of my buddies who work at the Mess about policing today. I wonder if it's just the place that I work, but I've met a lot of people who are looking into policing...

Oh, and I handed out some bookmarks to co-workers and such today too, but they'll be sent to Greymeat.com if they even bother to check it :) I think it's pretty cool to know that some of the people that I work with are into webcomics, even if they aren't into mine (yet!) :D

Oh, I updated the fan art page to finally have a proper link to DJ Saito's fan art (Which has been at the fanart13 page for a while, but lacked a link on the Fanart main page), as well as adding a page for PixieSingsBass, who will hopefully be looking into making a webcomic herself, but is appreciated for fan art regardless! We don't require you to have a link to make us fanart, but we like to link back to people if you do have a site :)

Ninja Edit - I wrote a bunch of strips today, so no more stressing about getting the next strip sorted for at least a month :) Yes, I wrote all the way to 100!

I had the pleasure of watching Lar DeSouza, artist for the comics Least I Could Do and Looking For Group (leasticoulddo.comlfgcomic.com)
This was my first time watching him U-stream, and I wanted to post the highlights of my visit. I arrived an hour into the broadcast, but I wasn't disappointed by what I saw!

We got to watch Lar draw a Disco Dancing Wookie and a Sexy Richard Bunny Lady. I feel like I can learn so much from him artistically!

We were entertained by music about enormous penises while he was away from the camera (I think to use the toilet!)

We met his cat/best friend Virgil

Lar answered most chat questions in real time. He is a very talented multi-tasker!

Lar was friendly, courteous and funny. I felt like I was watching a great TV program, but I also felt included, like a friend or insider.

We paused for station breaks and listened to a Jaw-harp playing

We made origami penises while the theme song from Benny Hill played

We learned that the Theme Song from Benny Hill is called "Yackety Sax"

Lar showed off his extensive hat collection, including his infamous Fez hat, and something that looked like a roasted turkey hat

Lar performed and sang to us a song at the end of the broadcast: Cee-Lo Green's F*ck You

All-in-all, I must say that Lar is an extremely talented artist, and true showman. I encourage anyone and everyone to go out to see his Ustream which I understand to be every Friday evening.

Now as for the TOGM comic! *ahem*

I had a great time drawing this one. Usually when I draw a strip, I plan on working on an aspect of drawing (lighting, perspective, anatomy, dynamic posing) and for this one, I chose to work on drawing my faces in 3/4 view. So worked a couple of 3/4 view shots in for this purpose.

I think they turned out pretty well! Of course, there is -always- room for improvement. Always, always, always!

Speaking of practice, today I worked on a very nice picture of two of our favourite characters. I think that I will be posting is soon! *mystery*

A flashlight taped to a pot on your head. I must remember that the next time I'm out digging for corpses.

It's an invaluable fashion accessory :P

Five points for the Gotham-style 'brain-signal'.

Five more points for the nifty hat, which I must now seek to recreate.

I can almost hear John screaming in the last frame. I'm amazed he had the presence of mind to dig a grave for ol'corpsey.

I'm going to guess that he's actually not going to be able to explain it, and instead make himself look worse :D

Poor John... can't even get some privacy to bury a corpse. What's this crazy zombie world coming to?

Really the only 'issue' I have so far, is the secret base seemed pretty conveniently located to Beth's house... especially when John first discovered by picking the right bush to hide and to fortuitously cut himself.... unless there's something special about the base we don't know about yet.

I do have to say I think the coloring worked really, and I like Beth's expression in that last panel.

@Solem Saje - I may have been influenced by reading "The Black Casebook" while I was writing this one ;) And yeah, now if I ever want to go as John for Hallowe'en or a cosplay thing, I've got something that I can wear that is more than me standing around in a t-shirt ;)

@RedJar - Oh yes, he screamed.

@Icethefrostycat - And hijinx can ensue? :)

@bbedlam - It's on the way between the two houses, and there is a reasonable amount of distance between the two. They aren't living right next door to each other, there's a large park area between the two.

Well, this one sure got me laughing again :D

Btw hi guys ^^

I'm glad you enjoyed, and glad to see you back :)

@Magravan I love how you have a plausible answer to every continuity or plot issue someone brings up. Sometimes the answers you give to people's concerns are just as amusing as the comic itself.

Sometimes I'm just making it up as I go along, but it was always my intention that Sylene and Beth be 'neighbours', but not right beside each other ;)

As for the convenient placement of him cutting his hand, it's definitely a stretch, but I've got a reason for that one too, although I can't make it clear yet :)

But yeah, sometimes June draws something that make sense and I have to try to figure out how it works. One day we're going to have to do a Crisis level retcon just to fix everything ;P I'm glad that you're finding my suffering amusing as I struggle for a plausible rationalization :D

I lol'd at John's "OH SHIT I'VE BEEN CAUGHT BURYING A DEAD BODY" Face. Not so much a "Oh ahaha" lol, more like a "OH MY GOD AHAHAHA LOOK AT HIS DWEEB FACE!! HAHAHAHAH -falls out of chair-."

So, overall, your comedy and drawing amuses me. xD

Hehehe :) Thanks Sya! I'm noticing that people seemed more pleased with this one... Personally, I think that June does fantastic outdoor, nighttime scenes...

I hope that you guys enjoy the next bunch.. I think that it's some of my better writing (and June keeps improving too, so that's bound to be more appealing ;P)

As a writer myself, I'm no stranger to people asking "but how does that happen?" or "doesn't that seem a little too convenient?". sometimes, I do like you and just make it up and hope it makes sense, but sometimes I just want to give the person a shake and say "IT'S FICTION #*($&*@#&$@*!!!!! HAVEN'T YOU EVER HEARD OF TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF???" Not everything has to make sense all the time, and convenient things can happen just for the sake of advancing the story. Hell, real life doesn't always make sense, and we never would have come up with the word "coincidence" if convenient things like that never happened.

Magravan edit delete reply
Hahaha! Very true... It's the people who nitpick every coincidence that I don't understand... I can understand having issue with a plethora of them in a relatively short period of time, but sometimes a character is the only survivor of drow attack on a village because the drow happened to be the only good one in existence... (I'm reading a R.A. Salvatore book...)

I do stretch coincidence at times, but in the alternate universe, John was dumped in front of a One and cracked his head open. And died. Because the One ate his brains.

Wouldn't make for much of a story though... ;)
