To me, the Phantom speaks in the voice of Dr. Doofensmirtz from Phineas and Ferb :
What doyou think?
Magravan edit delete
Phantom's a eunuch who gets things done. None of this dithering about ethics or whatever :P

Ha. I like that "I flirted with her boyfriend! How could we make her help? Hmm... KIDNAPPING!" Also Skrael No I did not imagine him as Doofensmirtz... I imagined him as a bad Dark Knight Batman impersonater.

You are the second person to say that they thought Phantom should sound like Dark Knight Batman today!

.... yes. i can totally see him talking in the doof voice. you've ruined the phantom's menecing factor, every time i read him i'm gonna read it in the doof voice now >.<
Croaxleigh (Guest) edit delete reply
I'm picturing his voice as being similar to Christopher Walken, but not the scary Walken. More like the Walken who has random zany cameo appearances in comedy movies.

Yes! I'm not crazy! I thought he was Batman too. :D
Jrade edit delete reply
I read him voiced, as I read all badasses, as my range coach Steve Wills. This doesn't help any of you, but trust me - it's awesome!
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
Nope, it's gotta be the doof. I can't read him in any other voice now. Which is awesome. Because doof is the best character in p&f. Major monogram is what I think Robert would sound like, and Vanessa as Beth. And ferb would be John. .... Yes I watch p&f almost religiously.... I'm a total dork. But those are the voices I could see for togm. I don't know about sylene or Katie.

I would have thought R. Lee Ermey, from "Full Metal Jacket" and "Toy Story", but now that you suggested it Dr. Doofensmirtz is forever stuck in my mind.

Also, now that you mentioned it, why do girls always want to complicate things?
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
It's simple t. Because they can. Actually there was a study done I think it was harvard. Girls used more complicated methods to reach the solution than guys. So apparently girls minds just work like that. (I think they just get off to the drama they cause by being complicated)
Ghost286 edit delete reply
While it can be true women do stuff in more complicated ways, it still doesn't beat the fact us men will almost always refuse to ask for directions and/or ask a member of staff for help when we're lost.
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
except guys that arten't "macho" i don't care if i look girly asking for directions or looking at instructions.
Joobaloob56 (Guest) edit delete reply
I actually picture him sounding more like Garrus from Mass Effect. Kinda gravely and badass.

Now here's a question for you: who's uglier, Garrus or Phantom?
Ghost286 edit delete reply
Don't see how the macho and girly thing play into it, its more just blind old fashioned stubbornness that they cannot be wrong.

"We're lost"
"We're not lost I know exactly where we are!"

or my personal family fav (and the reason I will be asking for directions or help asap)

"Don't worry its a shortcut!"

@TheAlien - I'm not sure how to describe the voice I imagine him having, but it's closer to what you think than what June thinks :P

@model S - Phantom will most assuredly not be defeated by a Platypus, thusly returning life to normal... just in time!

@Croaxleigh - He's great in general, but I really enjoyed him on SNL :D More cowbell and more :D

@Jacob Gristwood - There are days where I'm tempted to just completely change the entire script in some ridiculous way... Having Phantom think he's Batman is kind of amusing ;)

@Jrade - No no, that's EXACTLY who I patterned him after in my mind :D

@model S - o.O

@T.Gatto - Who is he in FMJ? I don't know the actor by name...

@model S - Not touching that one :)

@Ghost286 - See, I'm weird like that. My thoughts on it are simple... I can wander around a store... shopping... for longer... or I can ask someone immediately and be in and out and on to better things... ;)

@model S - Some instructions I will read, some I wont... It all depends on how well I know what I'm doing... I'm usually pretty good at setting up electronics and such.. If it looks complicated and I can't learn it as I go, I tend to go for the instructions..

@Joobaloob56 - Garrus is pretty awesome... AND pretty ugly.. Especially in ME2... I think I would have to go with Garrus for being uglier.. But he makes up with it in sheer awesome.

(Which is funny, because I barely used him in ME1.. I was a pure Soldier, and so I used Liara and Tali typically... But he was a mainstay in the first playthrough on ME2)

@Ghost286 - I think that part of machoness is not showing any weakness, whether in physicality or judgement... And I think "Don't worry, it's a shortcut" sends shivers through a lot of people :)

R. Lee Ermey played the Drill Sergeant in "Full Metal Jacket", or Sarge in "Toy Story".
Magravan edit delete reply
I love that guy... I read somewhere that it wasn't even in the script, they just encouraged him to rant ;)
model S (Guest) edit delete reply
"not touching that one" best reply ever. srsly. but yes if phantom was defeated by a platapus i'd lose all respect for him. also sylene = candice from P&F it makes perfect sense.
Mr Stubbs (Guest) edit delete reply
I Hear him as Dr. Byron Orpheus from the Venture Bros
Beta Maxis (Guest) edit delete reply
No that voice doesn't sound like him AT ALL. It IS hilarious though, I will give you that.
Guest (Guest) edit delete reply
i hear the voice of harvey birdman's boss mr sebbins
Magravan edit delete reply
He sounds like T.Gatto's impersonation to me now ;)
