Sorry for being a few minutes late on this! We had several factors working against us but it seems that we were able to update in a reasonable amount of time even if it was a few minutes past twelve. James should be home soon (he's driving through a pretty nasty storm right now) and he'll be putting up his comments as soon as he makes it home.

PS drawing knitting hands sucks. Knock it off James! XD
Magravan edit delete
We had some problems with the website, but thankfully it has been resolved relatively quickly as compared to the update time.

Just a quick note this time because it's late enough as it is, and I have an earlier than usual morning tomorrow ;)

Contest Information

Email togmshirt(@)gmail(.)com without the brackets. Winner will be selected at random sometime around the first of next month.

If you aren't willing to give your address, don't enter. You do not have to give any information unless you win. Just send an email that doesn't look like spam, if you win, I will ask for your address and your size and so on.

I'll write more about the strip itself tomorrow, have a great night and a great weekend everyone!

Is he knitting the skin meant to cover that arm? I mean the color of the fiber looks fairly close to skin tone
Martian Samurai edit delete reply
It looks more like Beth is affixing the muscle tissue to the joints. One aspect of decomp is that ligaments and connective tissue breaks down/changes very quickly (see rigor mortis). It looks like she is welding a wire in the expected way.
Lemur edit delete reply
I'm so confused as to where this is all headed, but I'll be damned if I can't wait to find out.
I also love that they knit body materials, very interesting :)
Jormungand (Guest) edit delete reply
I was more talking about the guy in the last panel
Magravan edit delete reply
@Jormungand - Nope, just a general knitting pattern with yarn.

@Martian Samurai - These limbs are brand new and have not experienced decomp or rigor mortis :)

@Lemur - Knitting body materials is atypical... That's Beth imposing her own interests onto the job that she's been assigned :)

@Jormungand - He's just supposed to be knitting some random project... The joke is that this big burly security guard is being taught how to knit, whereas you think that Beth is speaking to herself about her own tasks. :)

Panel 2 is pretty much the best panel ever

I didn't quite get this one until you explained it, but I like the concept of the guard working with yarn/thread while she works with flesh.

Maybe if she makes friends with him, she will be able to escape easier?

matthewJA: i must agree. i love her face. actually...... ((edit to be made later)) ((decided to put it in a new post))

@mag: great writing i got it right away when i read the last panel. it made me laugh so hard i woke my brother... whoops. great writing.

@skrael: i must say, the art on this one is probably some of your best, the muscle structure is much more solid and "motion" feels much more fluid, as well as the expressions are far more ... solid? is that the right word? personally i would have had beth's teeth more open in the last panel ((more like she shouting)) she looks more "panicked" (did i spell that right?) i also enjoy the "TOP SECRET, do not tamper" not sure who's touch that was but great work.

by the way just a question:
what happened to using the muted tones for the hair? i thought everyone agreed that looked really good and fit the comic really well?

ok so i couldn't remember the typeface you use for fours, so i rigged this out of the comic. ((every letter i needed was in panels 3 and 4)) hope you get a laugh out of it.

and with a nice flash of lightning a crack of thunder and a hearty
"MUhaha is a live"

Beth enters the world of mad science with a capital S

next level limb testing apparatus . . . that's smart!

but the new arm should be covered in bacon instead of skin :p
Hornet (Guest) edit delete reply
M. Tyson's, court ordered anger management classes?
aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
... what do I have to send in the email again?
@Jormungand: nooooo, you're going to start off that whole skin-tone argument again!
Great strip as usual btw. What is she actually going to do with this arm, and why does it not have skin yet, and most importantly why is she putting wires through it?
Magravan edit delete reply
@MatthewJA - I enjoyed it as well :D

@T.Gatto - Which is unfortunate, because it means that I am not telling the story well enough... If the only reason that people are understanding it is because I am writing about it in the author's note, it doesn't stand on it's own :/

And I think that Beth might be thinking the same thing :D

@model S - We were trying to find some way to convey that it was top secret tech that even Beth doesn't know precisely how it works... She just attaches the tubes, and that's how it tests it.

As for the typeface, 3s and 4s use SundayComicsBB, but I'm impressed with how well you managed with cut and paste :D And yes, I did laugh, thank you for that :D

@TabSpectra - We all knew it was going to happen eventually ;)

@hagelander - Bacon does make everything better...

@Hornet - I noticed that you included your email address in the subject. Just send an email to the address I mentioned ;)

And Mr Security Guard is offended. He may be a zombie, but he never ate anyone's ear.

@aok666 - Doesn't matter, just send an email... So long as it doesn't look like spam, it'll be entered into the competition ;)

As for the arm, she's experimenting... Normally Beth's job is to put on new limbs, maybe minor patch ups, but evidence has been shown that she goes a bit above and beyond her job description.

So she's using this punishment to enjoy a bit of time with access to the best toys...

I think the only thing that threw me off was that color of the thread looks like he is knitting skin.

If it was almost any non-fleshtone it would probably work better.

Still love it!

i'm impressed how well i managed with cut and paste too. i'm happy you got a laugh out of it, i should try these silly edits more often.

Okay, so I have read every page (Besides the fan comics, and the filler stuff) And I have to say, this is a great comic. At first, I thought this would be weird because of the zombies. But somehow, someway this actually works out and makes sense.
But I am probably just saying this because of the boobs.
model S edit delete reply
model S
@othello: i could never get the hang of you. you're a hard game to master. but anyways, yes beth's boobs do have a great power over many, sylene's too but mainly beth's. i'm glad you're enjoying the comic. don't forget to vote! d(^.^)

I love the level of concentration from the gaurd.

I was just on an elevator, and a small sign was hanging up which read "Elevator permit available upon demand, in the engineering office".

I was wondering what would happen if I immediately stormed into the Engineering office, and DEMANDED to see the permit for elevator #4.

I know this has nothing to do with anything, but what ya gonna do beat me up?

Since I'm in a demanding mood I demand you respond to this post Immediately. ;)

I just stumbled across this webcomic tonight and I've sat and read through the entire thing from start to current point. I need more. NEED it.
Magravan edit delete reply
@T.Gatto - That's a fair point... But it's definitely not knitting flesh :D

@model S - Using the font makes things a lot easier though :P

@othello - Well, it is still weird... And the boobs don't change that :)

@model S - I loved that game :D

@D_Man - Have you ever tried to do that? My god man, you can't just do it willy-nilly, you'll lose an eye!

@T.Gatto - I'm guessing it's meant for like... inspectors and all, but you might actually get humoured :P

@Bacon_Strips - We're glad you're enjoying it, and we'll have another one ready soon :)

aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
I can't think of any situation the guard could be in where putting out an eye would be LESS of a cause for panic than it is here. He's a zombie, in the factory that makes spare zombie bits, in the same room as an extremely skilled replacement technician!
Magravan edit delete reply
@model S - All of these rewritten panels are reminding me of the time that Ferix did the voice-to-text comics :) Also, I think you meant Horde... ;)

@aok666 - That's ... a pretty good point, actually.

i think i did too. i thought they spelled it hoard in World of Warcraft, i guess not. my friends never help.
i don't know what you're talking about james. there's nothing mispelled...
