As you may or may not have noticed, we didn't put up the fanart for Saturday. This is primarily because I had a lot of other things on my mind. So apologies if you were hoping for it.. I do have plans to put it up next Saturday.

With that out of the way, we're going to go ahead with the plan to put another into the comic... If you want to be drawn into the comic as one of the minor characters in the upcoming conclusion, please send an email to togmshirt (at) gmail (dot) com .. yeah, I know I'm using the same email as the Tshirt.. I just didn't feel like making another email address.

As for the comic itself, if you don't know the concept behind Chehkov's Gun, this is a decent explanation for it... :) Edit: Warning - TvTropes link. It's like internet crack...

Those guns better go off!

Oh no! You linked to TV Tropes! How could you do such a cruel and evil thing to the people of the internet? D:

In other news, I am wondering what guns Chehkov has this time...

Is there a limit on how many people can be extras? And what categories are available? I am so NOT a Three or above.
Magravan edit delete reply
@fingerwitch - Hey, wow, I haven't seen you in forever! Hope you're doing okay these days :) And those guns look like they are just aching for a chance to go off!

@MarshmallowGherkin - I edited in a warning! :D Sorry for not being clearer!

@MatthewJA - You could have edited the words too... :D

@Spinnerlink - I think he's linked that picture in some fashion in every post since.. :D

@aok666 - Yeah, we're limiting it to one person. The categories are probably going to be 1-3...

Checkov? I'm kinda hoping you have him say "nuclear wessels" at some point.

nice ST reference, oh, and my fist thought on Panel 4 of Sylene was that some one had taken a bite out of her, since her design on her shirt and the door color are so close in shade. maybe its just me :)
T.Gatto edit delete reply
I'm guessing those were add-ons, and not his real arms.

The phantom definitely needs someone like Sylene to keep him in line.

Thrudd (Guest) edit delete reply
It would be an interesting twist is his "guns" were actually guns or the overlarge-rediculous-size variety of which he needs the upper arm musculature to use properly.

Nah - will never happen.

Oh, and hi ... glad to be back online and reading more of TGOM again. Sorry I missed the drama and changes as they happened.

Also I am too much of knowstoomuchforhisowngood to make anything close to a believable 1-3 unless there is an idiot-savant variation.
Lemur edit delete reply
thats one hell of a stylish pose the phantoms pulling in the fourth panel.

so I need to start commenting more since I love this comic.

Question: Can I also enter this contest? I just want to be fair to others who haven't had the chance...
Magravan edit delete reply
@Ryan C. - Contrary to popular belief, Chehkov's Gun has nothign to do with Star Trek :) You'll have to watch the next Star Trek movie like the rest of us if you want to hear that again ;) (I can't wait! I loved the first one!)

@drivinallnight - It's an old literary terms from a guy whose name was Chehkov ;) The Star Trek character has nothing to do with it... :)

I didn't notice that Sylene's shirt blended into the door until you mentioned it... NOW I CAN'T STOP!!

@T.Gatto - Yeah, a little bit of Frankenstein going on there, methinks :)

@Thrudd - That would be a weird, weird twist... Tempting, but no ;)

Also, not to be a dick, but the higher side of 3s are probably enough to cover just about everyone who is ever going to read the comic... Unless you are literally a rocket scientist, brain surgeon or something of that sort, you aren't a 4. I think that the fact that I'm not a 4 myself is why I'm writing them in a way that people underestimate them... (It's probably also to make them more relatable as characters...)

@Lemur - He's too sexy for his shirt.. And he does his little turn in the hallway...

@banelilith - We're happy to get more comments, so I am definitely on board for that one ;) And yes, you can sign up for it.

MatthewJA edit delete reply
The words are funny enough :D

e: And when I have the capability, I will continue to include it in every comment
Magravan edit delete reply
@model S - It certainly looks creepier with Matt's 'fixing'...

@MatthewJA - Entirely different connotation on those words now...

@Magravan: might interest you to know that the person with the highest recorded IQ is a journalist, not a brain surgeon, her IQ is recorded as higher than 200, however, it is effectively so high that tests don't work properly. Also, I don't like boasting however I personally have an IQ between a half and a third again higher than the average joe (depends on the demographic your taking the average joe from) , and I think this webcomic's awsome.
Magravan edit delete reply
That does interest me to know, and I don't want to sound ... what's the word... ignorant or something like that.. But if you have a 200+ IQ, you should be advancing humanity, not writing the drivel that journalists seem to be forced to pump out these days...

As much as I respect her right to do what she pleases with her life and everything, it seems a waste not to be out figuring out controlled fusion or curing various diseases...

But anyway, horrible judgemental side aside, thanks for the information and letting us know you enjoy the comic ;)

DrJustFrigginKillThatGuy (Guest) edit delete reply
hello the doctor here with a degree i can't say annything about without cleaning your face with a sandpaper grinder. and man that guy sure works out alot...o please god tell me thats from working out D:
Magravan edit delete reply
@Muchacho NL - Hahaha :) Well, it's all random number generated... I'd feel too bad if I tampered with the numbers or anything...

@DrJustFrigginKillThatGuy - That's not a pleasant mental image.. at all...

And it is definitely NOT from working out... But I think we can all be sure what it is from... ;)
aok666 (Guest) edit delete reply
Just because you have high IQ doesn't mean you're good at everything. Journalist genius could be really good at journalism but not at brain surgery, nuclear fusion, etc. I mean, at school I was always been good at Biology but truly useless at Physics, English or Geography. (No idea what my IQ is, because the real tests cost money, plus they involve logic puzzles which aren't my strong point, but I was moved up a grade at school so probably quite high.)
Violet (Guest) edit delete reply
Ack, now I'm flashing back to my childhood! Almost every adult in my life reasoned that
1. I did well in school,
2. So I must be very smart,
3. So I should be a doctor.
I can't stand seeing people in pain, physically interacting with near-strangers, or socially interacting with almost anyone. That would have been a disaster on so many levels, even if boredom wouldn't cause me to drop out of medical school first.
Magravan edit delete reply
@aok666 - That's definitely true... There are various facets of intelligence, and IQ is a poor measure for most of them...

@Violet - That's why it's a good idea to not let adults in your life dictate your career aspirations... They are too busy trying to get you into a career that you can pay for them to live in a designer old folks home ;)

idd (Guest) edit delete reply
On IQ, some people think differently and as such would make poor doctors. perhaps this journalist person has a great reputation. In my limited experience with IQ tests is more on being able to call up obscure facts and apply them. This is something I could see a journalist being really go at. a genius mechanic on the other hand may not do well at an IQ test, however I know who I would let work om my car first. A 4 would be excellent at what they do, and managed to eat a bunch of humans early in the days of the cross over. Thus Beth a Body Tech and the POS's for their own reasons had access to smarter or a larger quantity of brains.
Magravan edit delete reply
That's true, even amongst the 4s, certain ones are capable of things that other 4s are not.
