Hey everyone, sorry for the late update. It was a bit of a communication problem, but mostly my fault.

Anyway, now we know why everything was missing when Sully went looking for it. I'm sure that people already figured this out :)

Take care everyone, and we'll hopefully have the next comic up on time.

Well, I have some good news and some bad news. I'll give the bad news first, since it'll make the good news make more sense...

The bad news is that there is a very high probability that we will be ending the comic on the 300th strip. We had hoped to go to 375, to give more of a conclusion, but quite honestly, I've been having difficulty writing it for some time now, and June is getting frustrated with the conditions under which she is expected to produce her side of things. Understandably so, really.

So what's the good news? The good news is that due to a previous thing where we weren't sure if we'd get beyond 300, I have been pushing the story towards an ending of sorts anyway. It's not going to explain everything I wanted to explain, but it will serve as the second ending I mentioned a long time ago. So the good news is that it's not going to be a completely slapped on ending akin to "Rocks fall, everyone dies."

So there we have it. Thanks to everyone for reading, there's only 9ish more strips to go, so hopefully people stick around for that much.

We've had our ups and downs, but you guys have been awesomely supportive and we appreciate everything. I hope that you guys are happy with the note that we leave it on, or at least as happy as can be expected.

Thank you.

I thought the phrase was "colour me impressed", but maybe that's a British thing.

No chip? Quick, rush him! Nah, John would trip up Sully, or something. Those guys are in trouble!
Magravan edit delete reply
@aok666 - I think that it is used here as well, but I've heard consider me impressed also :)

@PhilC - Sully has a chip that Robert was able to get a reading off of.

Only 9 more, Noooooooooo!
I'll have to get a life or something. ;)

Can't say it hasn't been an awesome run though. :)

What are you guys going to do with yourselves? My goodness, if I stopped doing RQLT I'd be lost for something to do. I realize doing a strip takes time away from family and work, and so I respect your decision but it just won't be the same around here.
Magravan edit delete reply
@T.Gatto - Haha, you have a pretty awesome life anyway :)

@moizmad - I don't know, really. Granted, it didn't really tie me up timewise most of the time anyway... It was just stressful coming up with the writing for a strip when my creativity was tanked...

I'm guessing that I'll probably take a break from creative efforts and try to refocus on improving other aspects of my life... Let the creative batteries have a chance to recharge a little bit.

I know what you mean Magraven, in the four years I have been regularly using my creative juices, I have taken many breaks one of them lasting half a year. Although I love this comic, it is better for a story be ended early than for it to be forced for too long. It has been a great read, and I am looking forward to the last few comics.
Soo (Guest) edit delete reply
so I guess this means there will be lots of fanservice pics to make it up to us all :P
Magravan edit delete reply
@Oddysen - Well thanks for the kind words, and I hope you enjoy what's left :)

@Soo - Ha! I'll be happy enough just with the last 9 strips :)

I'm really sorry to hear that the comic has become a stressful experience for both of you. When that happens, a hobby becomes a chore, so you have made the right decision IMHO. I wish it were otherwise, though.

I just want to thank you both for your dedication to TOGM thus far. I appreciate the quality of the writing and the art, and the way you have interacted with your fans. Most of all, I wonder at your ability to commit to a schedule, and then keep to it for so long!

I have enjoyed the fruits of your creativity very much indeed, and I will keep an eye out for anything on the 'net by "Skrael" from now on.

Finally, I just want to say "Thank you, both of you" for the pleasure you have given us, and I look forward to the final 9 episodes! (Sorry for the epic post, had to get this off my chest). TLDR?
Magravan edit delete reply
Our ability to keep to the schedule was mostly June managing to come up with something even when she had limited time or she wasn't feeling great.

Thanks for the kind words, and now that people are calling them the 'final 9 strips / episodes', I'm starting to get nervous about how they are written lol :)

Well, I hope you stay around on the forums.
In any case,
Your comic will live on forever

I'm sure I'll say it again at some point...

Hope you enjoyed/learned as much from doing this as I did from reading it.

Why I love and will miss TOGM...
Beth, and how she doesn’t let her zombie nature define her, as demonstrated by her refusal to eat John’s brain even when she probably should have. And for kicking butt, but only when she has to.
John, for doing his best to make sense of an insane situation and try to make a difference, despite his human limitations.
Sylene for being a good friend and a better advocate for basic humanity than many humans!
Theo for fighting the good fight.
RZ for just being RZ.
Robert for being so smart, figuring a way to come out looking good despite the worst situation ever, and doing what he thinks is best to ensure the survival of the post-human race.
All those zombies, even the ones, who just tried to make their way in the world as best they knew how. Except Chad. Screw that guy.
And all the fan service. Yes, thank you for the fan service.
Good luck in all your future endeavors and I’ll read whatever you come up with next!

Awww, an end to greatness. :( Don't you guys disappear into the shadows! I loved this comic and hope to still see more of your works or even just as friends. Once I start getting an income I want to buy some merch from you guys. Maybe come out with a book sometime? I'd like to have a copy if you guys published this. <3 you guys

1) If this is another joke, I'm going to find out where you live and send my little sister round to your house to bore you rigid. You do have form for this (Dead John/Thomas and April Fools).
2) If this is not a joke, you have *got* to tell us what the third ending (the 1000+ installments one) was going to be. Otherwise my sister will be on the next flight to Canada after the final installment. And you'll have to feed her. She won't eat baked beans.
3) Is this in any way related to you recently falling off the wagon a few times re: updating on time (six o'clock syndrome)?
4) If this isn't another trick, I'm really going to miss TOGM and you guys. I'm sorry that something so truly wonderful has turned sour for you - that's one of the worst feelings in the world. Let me know if you ever restart TOGM or start something new, because you are some of the most talented and dedicated webcomicartists I've ever come across.
Oh, and my friend and I have officially made "Chad" our codename for any real jerks that we meet. Thanks for that too.

5) Does this have anything to do with you having just been knocked off the All-Time Popular slot?

hey sorry i haven't posted in awhile! wow ending already? man and it was such a great run too! it's been great watching june improve! and your writing too.

I believe That the mark of a good story is that you never want it to end. Mark Twain said at the end of Tom Sawyer, That the story must here lest it stop becoming the tale of a boy, and become the story of a man. I hope you guys do something else either in this "world" or in another story.

@angry-alien - I'm guessing I will probably stick around the forums... I'm a little more okay with this whole thing than I was when I originally posted it, so my outlook is a little better ;)

@jme - I'll miss these comment chats too.. They were definitely a positive aspect to making the comic :)

@the_brigand - Haha, it had its ups and downs, but overall it was a very enjoyable experience for me.

@PhilC - Thank you, that was wonderful to read.

@asheswillfall - I can see what I can do about doing up a hard cover copy of it, I suppose. I think I'd like a copy of the story myself, just for ... sentimental value?

@aok666 - 1) Sadly not this time.
2) I might, I might not. If I tell the final ending, then it's definitely dead forever. If not, who can say what the future holds?
3) I think that was a symptom... I've been having trouble writing, and June was getting frustrated with being given a strip at the last minute and being expected to come up with something.
4) I would say that if anyone wants news from us in case we start up again, follow us on Twitter or Facebook, because the chances of realizing something's been posted on here is probably fairly slim.
5) Nothing at all to do with ATP. If I cared about ATP, I would have asked people to subscribe, and probably been well on my way to 500+. My only frustration about the ATP is that ToY passed us before WtS could, and June had drawn up a picture of us passing on the torch to WtS' character. So we don't really get to use that now :)

@model S - Already? It'll be pretty close to 3 years of us doing it lol :)

@Fortunado1972 - He was such a good writer... As for us, we'll see how we feel after a few weeks where we don't have to worry about an update going up... If we start to miss it, who can say?

It'd be a long time before we started anything else though, because I would want to be very, very far ahead in writing before asking June to commit again.

I am very sad now. This was one of my favorite webcomics, and now its ending :(
Is there any possibility for you guys to pick it up in the future? I would love to know if this was the complete end of TOGM or not...
Magravan edit delete reply
@ras - Sorry.

@Krossfire - Let's just say that it is an ending with no current plans to continue. Maybe we'll miss it so much that we'll try to keep things going... Who can say?
Blue62 (Guest) edit delete reply
damn, been loving this since I stumbled onto it a year ago- but such is life. Miss ya, best of luck
Magravan edit delete reply
@Blue62 - Thank you :) I'll miss you guys too.

@Everyone - I'm pretty sure the comic is set up properly to go up on time, but if it doesn't, I will fix it in the morning... So if you're seeing this instead of the update, sorry! If not, great, feel free to disregard this :D
