Hey everyone, I hope you had a great week! Thanks for checking in on us!
Comic Stuff -
Well, as some of you have guessed, John has allowed the clones to be harvested. Oh, and we have Old John and Young John! So you are seeing what's going on with John for the new future.
This was my way of showing how things progressed in a larger scope. John's addressed TOGM, and managed to manufacture Enlightenment. They now have a corral of sorts for the humans.
This is also a part of the thing that made it have to be Beth's fault. She still feels guilty about it, which allows John to push for her to change their policy with regards to the People.
Anyway, I hope you guys are enjoying this still. The next one blew my mind, so I hope that you guys are equally as impressed!
Not Comic Stuff -
I play Marvel Heroes, and on Saturday night, I was running my first raid with my supergroup. Midway through the raid, the leader of the super group drops in, says something along the lines of "Hope it's been fun." and proceeds to ban everyone from teamspeak and kick them from the guild.
So, what a frustrating way to end my first raid :( Anyway, the people involved with the group banded together and remade the group under the name Retconned, which I thought was pretty clever.
Anyway, if you happen to play Marvel Heroes, and want to play together, my name on there is Magravan (and Skrael plays too), and my SG is Retconned.
Anyway, hope you guys have a great week, take care!
One thing I dislike about the comic being uploaded while I sleep is that I don't get a chance to put up an author's note. Any way, good thing I don't have much to say. My father passed this week after a long struggle with cancer.
Old john? So he chose not to be a zombie and harvest brains to become a 4-6? Instead using clones to keep his memories and love alive? I... that's... o.o
I assume the humans/clones are in there for their own protection, as well as the zombies’ protection, but the world has lots of space for everyone (especially after almost everyone died).
I would have thought that after decades the survivors on both sides would be able to live along side each other in relative peace.
I guess it is a zombie story after all, so we can't exactly expect a near perfect shining happy Utopia.
Will we get to see everyone else?
Also why isn't there a monument built to whoever killed Chad? ;)
1. They are benevolent dictators :) They are basically responsible for any of the Enlightened having any semblance of freedom. They hold a revered status amongst the Enlightened at this point.
2. She exists as a martyr to the society. I'm not saying for 100% certain that she wasn't cloned again, but I will say that if she were, she'd be kept outside of general society...
3. By the people who knew him, he's remembered as they knew him. He's no longer part of the social consciousness. He's not part of the establishment.
Keep in mind that most people didn't realize that he was even as bad as he was. The PSOs / Rebellion had a front row seat on all the bad stuff, but the majority of people went completely unaware.
4. Chekov is neither hero nor villain, I think. He sought vengenance instead of justice.
5. We will not be going into Thomas' stuff. A part of me wants to make it so that he was left a One. Another part wants to say that he was restored to some degree of intelligence, but kept out of the lime light, like Sarah.
As to which is the canon version? I haven't decided yet.
6. I'm sure he's around somewhere... or will be when we make the next time jump :D
7. Like.. Mentally or physically?
8. Someone with an axe to grind, I'm sure.
9. They have a system of Enlightenment, and it is tracked very carefully. The lower ranks are enlightened, certainly.
10. I do believe they might get one final send off before we close the curtains again ;)
11. They were not able to communicate with it. It's still an underlying menace.
I find my heart warmed at our heroes' success and yet chilled to its core at humanity's fate, all at the same time -- congratulations!
I'm still holding out hope for a zombie future for John. He could get zombiefied on his deathbed, get fixed up by Beth with facelift, implants, etc, and look good as new.
Just an observation, but if I was on the statue committee, I would have voted for the statue of Sarah to have been dressed exactly as she was when she died. Historical accuracy is very important after all... ;)
I hate to say but I completely agree with T. Gatto. historical accuracy is very important. i'm sure john has at least one mini statue of that version. I mean they had to make mockups so they could see the design before they went full scale right?
John: RZ stop playing with my Mini Sarah Statue. You will get me in trouble!
RZ: But this is the one with all the good bits on it!
Beth: JOHN!
RZ: Hey what is this computer file titled "Beth Bunker Buster" anyway? [opens file]
John: Errrrrmmmm.
Beth: $&*%#@$#@&*%$ [under breath]! John sweetie [smiles sweetly] come over here [blinks eyes and smiles with teeth showing] I would like a word with you [through closed teeth, voice almost musical]!
RZ: Mom where is John going [bewildered expression]?
Beth: Not far RZ, he won't get far AT ALL [not looking quite so cheery]...
You’re the best Mom, but why is Your Apron So Bloody!?
Beth is making a special batch of brain shaped TOGM Cookies for RZ’s Yuletide party.
The recipe/formula requires; 2 ounces of Clone (or human) Brain Extract; 1 ounce High Fructose Corn Syrup; and 8 ounces of Industrial Styrofoam, to make a single cookie.
RZ has a lot of friends, so she needs to make 200 cookies, just to be safe.
She has abundant amounts of High Fructose Corn Syrup, and Styrofoam, but needs to know how many clones to harvest for the party.
An average victim/clone yields 8 ounces of usable gray-matter extract (YUM!).
How many Yuletide sacrificial victims are needed to make the cookies so that RZ can have his party?
I think this one's about my speed. 2 ounces of brain times 200 cookies equals 400 ounces of brains required, divided by eight ounces per clone, equals 50 clones sacrificed for the party. Now I'm hungry for brain cookies!
I posted my reply on the previous comic (sorry for the delay). :(
Yes this one was easier. I'll try to come up with a better one next time. :)
I think any variations in the answers to the last question can be attributed to my poor phrasing of the question (that is I should have defined the variables better, but I left it up to the reader).
You miscalculated in year 3, that's why your answer is wrong.
"Beginning of 3rd year starts at 906.9 miles traveled. So at the end of the 3rd 15.115 weeks they travel a total of 1060.35 miles." you added 154.45 miles to that year: roughly 300 miles too little.
It appears I also made a mistake: I divided the miles per year, to the total miles. But it doesn't take them 0.86 years in the last year, it only takes them 3 months and 2 weeks. Also, I didn't see the 10% PER MONTH, only 10%.
Corrected it, and our numbers match now give or take a 100 or so, only the time is different.
I registered it, but I never really went "Heeeeey, he's not wearing contacts anymore!" Figured it was due to him not having to hide his humanity anymore.
Through the clones and the systems in place, he has a kind of immortality, without giving up what he is.
I assume the humans/clones are in there for their own protection, as well as the zombies’ protection, but the world has lots of space for everyone (especially after almost everyone died).

The corral allows maximum ability to keep track of the People. They are protected, and harvested, like farm animals.
The next strip does show a number of people, but it also jumps ahead in time.
1- I assume Beth and John are heroes, and leaders in the new world, are they dictators?
2- Sarah is definitely revered, though it seems never cloned again. Why?
3- How is Robert (he was not all bad after all) remembered?
4- What about Chekov who killed Robert (not without reason) hero or villain?
5- How about Thomas, is he in the history books as a tragic hero, and is he still around?
6- Is the Phantom still around? Does he retain his dashing good looks, and is he still going by the title of “The Phantom”?
7- Will RZ ever grow up?
8- Who axed Chad?
9- Were they able to enlighten the “lesser zombies” or will they remain mindless shamblers and lurchers?
10- Are the true heroes of the comic, the famed Sack Patrol, and the Emergency Rope, ever going to get due recognition?
11- Finally were they ever able o communicate with the Overmind, and make peace, or did they defeat or subdue it, or is it still an underlying menace?
I had more, but I had to stop somewhere…

But am I the only one who feel sad for John to live his life in abstinence?
*opens the floodgates for fan fics*
I'd be interested in reading some of those fanfics ;)

I think any variations in the answers to the last question can be attributed to my poor phrasing of the question (that is I should have defined the variables better, but I left it up to the reader).
However, In the Math books they always have 1 correct answer because the book defines it specifically, and makes it that way.
In the real world, variables are often estimated or based on inconsistent (sometimes wrong) sources, so garbage in = garbage out.
At least that is my opinion.
My Math skills are pretty rusty, and used to be pretty good. I'm trying to sharpen them up a bit. :)
"Beginning of 3rd year starts at 906.9 miles traveled. So at the end of the 3rd 15.115 weeks they travel a total of 1060.35 miles." you added 154.45 miles to that year: roughly 300 miles too little.
You can tell I'm not a Math major...
Or a Typist. ;)
Corrected it, and our numbers match now give or take a 100 or so, only the time is different.
Did anyone notice that John is no longer wearing his orange contacts? (Pretty much all through the epilogue)
Is the shirt his position in the Cloning/harvesting bin of death, or does he just like red?
As for the contacts, why would he need them, if he doesn't have to hide his humanity/cloneity anymore?
