Monday TOGM! Wooooo!!

This is the comic that I was commenting on last week lol... Oops. Chad's still a jerk, and he brings up Tom! So that's cool... The story is progressing a little bit! This is the last that we're going to see of Beth, Chad and R.Z. until the next book, I think... But that'll be fairly soon anyways, so that's cool :)

In real life news, we hosted a "house warming / belated birthday" on the weekend... Sounded like a great idea at the time. Unfortunately, due to my work schedule, Saturday was pretty much the only day that it could be reasonably done. So we planned it a few weeks beforehand...

We had a couple good dousings of rain... Big, soaking drops of rain... Also, the soap for washing my car sprung a leak and ended up all over my trunk... That kind of sucked too... And then, midway through setting up for dinner, power goes out... FOR 5 HOURS!!

Thank goodness we had a Barbeque planned! My neighbour (who we had invited to it anyways) offered up his grill as well for the garlic bread so that things were finished roughly at the same time... The steaks were really yummy! Oh, and because of the lack of power? The ice cream cake was more like ice cream soup :/ Still yummy, but ... kind of annoying.. Because we didn't want it to go to waste, we gave everyone a gigantic piece :D

All in all, it went pretty well, which is saying something considering the complications! People seemed happy though, so that's what matters. Oh, and we got a weed whacker, and I thought of Marshmallow Gherkin's recent comic and laughed to myself.

Have a great week!

Hi. I don't know what I'm going to write about. Huge thunderclaps are happening outside, and I'm afraid that we will lose power again.

I'll just say that this one was fun to draw, and in Panel 3, Beth does not look so distressed because of Robert ripping into Twos, but at the fact that Chad is throwing his wadded up bag at the wall.

PS - I have known many asshole men in my time, so I know EXACTLY how to draw them.

PPS - i like drawing Chad, even if he is an asshole. He has interesting arms. And I don't even like muscle-y guys.

PPPPPPSSSSSS Please be sure and check out our new *STORE* For a bunch of T shirts that we made* !

I wonder if Thomas is John. My epileptic tree theory is Robert is trying to clone humans to make more brains and John is his test subject.

Is he John my thoughts exactly. Well know I know he's not robert which was one of the theories I had ages ago. So it sounds like Robert may not be so nice after all that's the predictable thing about dictators.
By the way good to hear your settling into your new home glad the rain didn't ruin it for you.

Interesting but it felt a little rushed in execution. Good non-the-less. :P

@Eternal_Phantom - I love seeing the theories that people come up with! It makes me happy to know that people are interested enough to think about it :D

@snooh(g?) - He's definitely not Robert, but considering the chameleon nature of the zombies, he easily could have been :) Thank you very much, we are definitely enjoying the new home, and we're glad that everyone had a good time despite the rain / power outtage :D

@Micheal - In what sense? Bubble placement or just rushed in the dialogue?

Whoa .. back up. The last we'll see of Beth until the next book? Noooooooo!

Although this does make suspect I was right and that John will move in with Sylene temporarily... Guess we'll find out :)

To be fair, we only have a couple pages left on this book :D

Well if you're interested in hearing the rest of the theory, TOGM isn't substitute brains, but cloned brain matter. The problem is, as Beth stated, it doesn't cause further enlightenment since the Brains hold no knowledge.

In order to remedy this, Robert's trying to create brains with experiences. John/Thomas is Test Subject #1 and was stolen by someone who wanted to sabotage the project, either due to a grudge against Robert or because they find inhumane (Zombie PETA?)

Wouldn't it be ZETH? Zombies for the Ethical Treatment of Humans?
Lunaris_Starchilde edit delete reply
what if... TOGM itself was designed specifically to not cause further enlightenment so that Robbie would be the only 5. then a rival faction invented TOMS The Other ******* ****** a brain substitute that allows for enlightenment, or a way to dezombify humanity. what if Rob isn't even a zombie, but another human pretending to be this unobtainable 5 status? oh the theories...
edit: OMG I just saw the tshirts. I'm hearing Elmira's voice (tiny toons) now for Selene.

I think that this is sort of like Robert Jordan used to say... some of it is right, some of it is close, but not quite, and some of it is dead wrong ;D

Sylene's voice is definitely not Elmira in my head, but I have to admit a certain affection for the character and the show from my childhood :D

Dang it, now I can't stop thinking that John is actually "Thomas". >_<
(You know, that Robert knows John, who happens to have lost his memory. How exactly, well, let's just say that my mind has been completely taken over by a certain website...
[The cloning theory is not one I'm agreeing with, though. I have a bunch of other ideas*, instead. :P])

*Lunaris's theory about a few things comes close to some of my lines of thought. (What? I'm a writer; I can't help but having multiple! Why limit yourself to one theory when you can just as easily have ten? :P) I've toyed with the idea that Robert is intentionally making TOGM not as good as it could be, and the first reason as to why was "not to make zombies stronger"--but that doesn't make any sense if he's really a five, because HE would get stronger as well. Another theory I had WAS that he was human. I never strung those two together, though. ;)
But those? Tip of the iceberg, pretty much. :P

Also, this comic makes it seem more plausible why Beth tolerates Chad. 'Cause once he stops with the insults (actually, his last insult was really funny, especially with that face. And, let's face it, even if you were the nicest guy in the world, you'd make a comment like that when throwing John out. :P), he looks more normal and less of a jerk. We all still know he is, but is comments and his posture mask it...temporarily. :P
